Slow It Down

The boys in my life began giving me the greatest gift of all on Mother's Day that is still tradition.  Working in the yard and visiting greenhouses!  What a blessing!

Greenhouses are a place where I could very easily become compulsive and obsessed!  So I slow the process down and take $20 visiting one greenhouse at a time.  Of course, I have the luxury of living near Blessings Greenhouse and Muellers and Pamida and Bomgars.

Last year I planted tomatoes after the rush and I had great success with my plants and yields.  Sometimes we just get in too big of a hurry!!!  When we hurry anything---kids', spiritual growth, learning and relationships-we tend to stunt its growth.

Perennials are all skyrocketing but my beds are still peacefully waiting.

This morning David and I drank our coffee at the table and were so content watching two baby bunnies play hide and seek, Robins hunting and building nest and squirrels fighting, that we almost lost track of time!

Slow it down.  Enjoy the view and the journey.

Sunday Afternoon and New Beginnings

Spent today digging up horse and chicken poo & bringing it home in bags, making a vermicompost bin, digging up worms, planting potatoes and loving playing in the dirt!  I took some pictures so we will see how it works together!

Potatoes.  Really hoping that if I continue to add mulch as the plant grows up that I will have a tire full of potatoes.

And potatoes in a top soil bag with mulch in an area where nothing grows.  Can't wait to see if this works!

Horse and chicken manure and my worm farm.  I need more worms.  It's a big bin!
